Petagas Memorial Garden and War Cemetery

(Malaysia - Kota Kinabalu)

On 21 January 1944, 176 members of the resistance-group Kinabalu Guerrillas were massacred and buried at Petagas. The remaining 131 were sent to camps in Labuan.

In 1948, the remains of the 122 members of the resistance-group who perished in the camps in Labuan were brought to Petagas and buried next to their comrades. The burial site is now called the Petagas Memorial Garden.
